As we began planning our wedding, I knew that I wanted some really special photos. They capture the moment of the big day, help create memories, and would hang on the walls of our home for years to come. These photos would mark the beginning of our life together. When speaking with Daniel, I was able to share some specific ideas I had about the style of photos I wanted. More artistic, less traditional. Something that would create a bit of a wow factor.
Lucky for me, this was his specialty.
Our original plan wasn't to spend the money on engagement photos, but Daniel encouraged us to do both and it was one of our best decisions. The engagement session was FUN! I thought it would be awkward in front of the camera, Daniel has a wonderful ability as a photographer to direct you into flattering poses, encourage you, make you feel pretty and most importantly, comfortable. The engagement session helped us to get to know Daniel and for him to get to know us. It made our wedding day more of a reunion. We were comfortable with him, knew what to expect, and looked forward to working with him.
For all future brides out there, something I never thought about it when originally picking my photographer was how important it was to LIKE him. This is someone who will be with you in your most private moments, in your most vulnerable, and most exciting on your big day. Daniel really made our day that much more special just because we and our families enjoyed being around him so much. He was great with our parents and friends, made everyone feel special, and was a natural and fun part of our wedding party from getting ready, to our holy vows, to tearing it up on the dance floor. Daniel is an incredibly talented photographer who is also kind and gifted in being around people. To me, that is priceless.
We trusted Daniel with our big moments, and he captured them all beautifully. Today, we have photos taken from him all around our house, as do our families. Photos from our engagement, our wedding, and even a family shoot he did for us later. And as our family grows, we hope that he will continue to help us capture our life story. For us, hiring Daniel Stancil Photography was about more than just picking another vendor, but finding someone we wanted to invite into our lives to document our most special moments.

I could not recommend a better photographer to capture your special day than Daniel Stancil, Daniel is a friend and the assistant pastor of my church. Everything from the initial consultation to the big day was handled in such a relaxing and carefree environment that you could not help to be instantly at ease. There was definitely no pressure in sales, but he very wisely steered us to the right package and style of pictures for us. Daniel spent time in getting to know us individually and as a couple and through this extra effort personalized our experience to us. On the big day he and his team were really more like guests at the wedding and easily fit into the whole event. He was just as quick to stop and crack a joke with my father, or share one of his own stories about me, as he was to take the pictures. In fact by the end of the wedding we let him in on a very old ( and somewhat embarrassing for the groom!) Cobb family tradition, which he was able to capture on film! I was also really thrilled that on our big day he listened to me when I expressed interest in taking some photos across the street from our venue that we had not previously talked about. Not every photographer would agree to this, but some of the shots turned out to be our favorites!
