Josh Garcia–Unleash 2009 Lighting Design

Man 2 blogs in 2 days Wow I am rolling them out.  :)I feel like the last couple of weeks for me I have captured more moments with my camera than ever before.  Someone asked me the other day to take some photos of a B-day party and I said no. I know I am mean but I was also burnt out on hearing the shutter close and release.  Am I the only photog to get that way?  I would like to think no!!

Anyways If you know me very well you know that I love shooting but I really love shooting in the perfect light!!!!  Every photographer wishes they could have the perfect lighting all the time.  Well Josh Garcia knows how to pull that off.  A few weeks ago I traveled to Anderson SC to attend a conference geared to churches and their volunteer leaders.  I had a blast hanging out at Unleash 2009.  I had the privilege also to meet Josh Garcia.  Josh just went on staff at Newspring Church in Anderson as their lighting genius.  He really knows how to create some really cool environments by utilizing some very sophisticated lighting.  He asked me to capture a few shots for him!  Well I actually captured like 400 and you get to view 6 of them.  If you are in the need of a really skilled lighting guy Josh is the man.

Daniel, you are super talented. These pics look great!

Active Water–Earth Expedition

Every now and then I have the privilege to meet and work with some incredible people.  This shoot did not disappoint at all!!!  I want you to meet two of the coolest guys I have ever met.  Daren and Brian!  If you follow me on Twitter you know that I was very excited about this gig.  Daren started a non profit organization called Active Water that is an organization that uses Athletic and grass root campaigns to raise awareness and funds to help provide clean water resources all over the world.  These guys bring awareness to the voiceless by walking not just a few miles but THOUSANDS of miles.  Daren started the first leg of his walk 374 days prior to completing it.  He walked from the Campus of North Georgia College all the way to Maine then he hopped on a plane flew to San Diego California where Brian joined the cause.  The two of them then walked from San Diego all the way back to Daren’s initial starting point in North Georgia for a total of  4,400 MILES.  WOW!!!!!!!!!!!!
Please if you have a moment check out their BLOG.

Also take a moment and look at their webpage and make sure you watch the video.

Here are a few pics from the day!!!

Paul & Karen Engagement Session

I am sorry this post has taken me a few days but I have been covered up with work on top of work.  The past few weeks have been crazy busy I may have to introduce myself to my family again.  :)

Now enough about me I want everyone to meet this awesome couple Paul and Karen! They will be getting married September 6 at the gorgeous Montaluce Winery in Dahlonega, Georgia.  I am super excited about the opportunity to photograph their wedding!  She is going to make a beautiful bride and he is going to make a studly groom.  I love the way these pics from their session turned out I wanted to blog more but I can’t.  Make sure you look at few of my favorite pics from their session and check out their Slideshow!!

Jay & Jennifer — Grunge Trash the Wedding Dress

I want you guys to meet Jay and Jennifer.  I went to High School with Jennifer back in the day.  We had an awesome time catching up on life.  These guys were absolutely awesome to work with.  So much fun!!!  I loved hanging with them for the couple of hours that we were together.  I must say that this shoot was different than anything I have ever done.  It was mixed with some candids of Jay and Jennifer then we introduced Jennifer to some really cold water to finish the day.  We did not completely
trash the dress but we did Grunge it up a bit.  Thanks Jennifer for being a great trouper and
hanging in there with us for the day.
Below are a few of my favorites from the day.
Also here is a 60 Second SLIDESHOW of a few more of the pics.

I LOVE THEM!!!! Can’t wait to see them all! Even mom loves them and we all know how she was about “trashing the dress”. Everyone thinks they are AMAZING!!! I’m going to have to get several canvases made.
